An Explanation of Rosary Intentions
The Holy Rosary should always begin with stating a specific intention, or petition. We should always strive to pray for that which is beneficial for ours or someones elses salvation. People have different ways in which to offer the intention, often a few words are sufficient, as Our Lady truly knows what is in our hearts and what our most pressing needs are before we even ask. Ask with humility and confidence and you will never fail to obtain that which you ask for, if it be the will of God,
One should always offer the intention of the Holy Father as a general rule.
In addition, one may offer an intention for each of the mysteries. This is a powerful way to cover many things in the Holy Rosary recitation altogether. The suggestions are as follows for the traditional Rosary mysteries only. This list contains the days, fruit and (general intention), respectively.

Tuesday & Friday
The Agony in the Garden: Contrition for our sins (For those suffering Spiritual Dryness)
The Scourging at the Pillar: Mortification of our senses (For those suffering addictions)
The Crowning with Thorns: Interior mortification (For those suffering mental illness)
The Carrying of the Cross: Patience under crosses (For those suffering physical illness)
The Crucifixion and Death of Our Lord: That we may die to ourselves (For all those who will die today)

The Resurrection: Conversion of heart (For those who will be baptized)
The Ascension: A desire for heaven (For priest and missionaries)
The Coming of the Holy Ghost: The Gifts of the Holy Ghost (For the conversion of all nations)
The Assumption of our Blessed Mother into Heaven: Devotion to Mary (For peace in the family)
The Coronation of our Blessed Mother: Eternal happiness (For a greater devotion to Mary)

A SUGGESTED PRAYER FOR STATING YOUR ROSARY INTENTIONS
Lord have Mercy Heavenly Father, we humble ourselves in your Holy Presence. We confess your holiness and we acknowledge that we are sinners.
In your Holy Name we forgive those who have offended us and we pray that you forgive us our sins.
Grant us to be filled with your Grace, Peace, Love and the Joy of your Presence.
With Mother Mary, with the holy angels and the saints, and with all creation we come to praise you, to bless you, to thank you and to glorify your Holy Name.
Alleluia.
Almighty Father, we pray for the intentions of Our Lady, for your Divine Will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven, we also pray for the intentions of the Holy Father.
We pray for the Church, for the Cardinals, the bishops, the priests, religious and for the laity.
We pray for the needs of the Church, for vocations to the religious life and to the Priesthood, we pray for the faithfulness and holiness of priests, for the conversion of sinners, for the dying, for all the dead.
We pray for the poor souls in Purgatory, specially for the ones in our families and for all the faithful departed.
Have Mercy on them O Lord.
We also pray for ourselves; that you grant us Peace in our hearts, our families and we pray for Peace in the whole world.
Lord send your Holy Spirit to renew the face of the earth, to destroy evil and darkness, sin and death, immorality, corruption, violence, hatred and impurity.
Set your throne in every heart and teach us how to come back to you.
We pray for the poor and the needy, for the victims of famine, war, natural disasters, divorce, abortion, family problems. For those who suffer unemployment, depression, racism, drugs, alcohol, vices, homosexuality, sexual abuse and other problems.
They are our brothers and sisters, help them Lord, please.
We pray for the leaders of our nations, for all the people in government to be guided by the Holy Spirit.
We pray for the sick, very specially for the ones around us, for whom you want us to intercede.
We pray for those who don't have any one to pray for them.
We pray also for ourselves. We ask you to give us healing in body mind and soul.
Lord Jesus, on your crucified body you took upon yourself the punishment that is due for our sins, you endured our sufferings and the consequences of sin: sickness and death. So we ask you to forgive us and to heal us by the Power of your most holy wounds, by the merits of your holy passion, agony and death, by the merits of the sorrows of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
